Published on 03/10/2017

There’s no doubt that the daunting Monday iceberg hits most of us almost every week. Some are affected by it a lot more than others to the extent that sick days start to become a norm for several. In this article however, we will focus on giving you some useful tactics on how you can become an expert at overcoming the Monday blues, which really do work! We’ve also tried these strategies ourselves at the Calibre office.

Let’s begin….

Useful Tip 1: work from home on a Monday:

It is no longer out of the ordinary for modern organisations to give their employees the option to work from home as and when they need to. If you have been given this privilege then we suggest that you make the most of it and try working from home most Mondays, if possible.

Some people are not too keen on this idea as they feel they will not be as productive at home. This is not true! All you need to do is set up an enchanting home office with stylish office furniture  this will keep you motivated in your home office space. Don’t forget to add a couple of comfortable and ergonomic office chairs to the mix too!

Useful Tip 2: change your mindset:

Another great way of getting rid of your Monday nerves is to simply change your way of thinking. Try to switch your negative thoughts into positive ones using effective motivational techniques like reading motivational books, quotes or listening to uplifting podcasts on a daily basis. These have proven to work wonders for thousands of people so why not give them a try?

Useful Tip 3: go x 10 on your office needs:

This one is straightforward. All this requires is for you to go extra with all your usual office needs. This can include going over the top with your coffee intake, eating a load of fruit and making the most out of breakout spaces during the course of the day.

You can even go as far as giving your office desk and office storage area a good scrub as this has proven to be greatly therapeutic especially for those who are obsessed with cleaning.

Recap:

At this stage, we should have come to the realisation that Mondays are actually not as bad as they seem. Start to practice some of the above tips at work and you will surely be able to see a positive difference.

All the best!
