Reception areas are the heartbeat of a business. They need to be clean, comfortable and welcoming, and without that problems can occur.
To help you to create the ideal first impression on your visitors, here are four reception area issues to be aware of, and how to avoid them.
- Wet floors - It’s easy for floors to become quite wet when people are coming in and out, especially if it’s raining outside. Ensure that floors are kept as dry as possible and place down a ‘wet floor’ sign if necessary.
- TV or music is too loud - It’s important to find the right volume and not to overpower visitors with a too-loud TV or music.
- A complicated ‘checking in’ system - If you have an electronic checking-in system, make sure it’s easy to use and that there is a receptionist on hand to help if necessary.
- Broken or uncomfortable reception seating - Make sure that any seating you have in your reception area is clean, comfortable and doesn’t have rips or breaks. This means cleaning your reception sofas regularly!
By overcoming these top four issues, you can ensure that your reception area always makes the right impression. Can you think of any other issues we might have missed?
