Does a Casual Dress Code Help to Boost Morale?

Published on 27/09/2019

There are very few offices that insist on a workplace uniform these days, unless employees are in a particular customer-facing role. Whilst smart dress codes are quite commonplace, have you considered a casual dress code within your office space?

Offices such as Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, and the like all allow their staff to arrive at work in casual attire, preferring a laid-back feel to their space. These types of businesses feel that casual dress codes help to boost creativity and allow staff to feel more relaxed, therefore encouraging their best work at their luxury office chairs

How do you feel about your employees wearing jeans and other casual wear to work?

In many ways it depends upon the type of business you have and how much customer contact employees have on a day to day basis. There are however a few advantages to allowing staff to dress more casually, namely comfort, a laid-back feel to the office, and a less ‘umming’ and ‘ahhing’ over what to wear to work!

Of course, when large meetings occur or clients attend the office staff can be asked to wear something smart on that particular day, which is where modern office lockers come in very handy indeed!

Does all of this boost morale? You could argue that it does, especially when you consider the laid-back feel to your space, but you also have to draw a line between what you consider to be casual and what your employees may consider it to be!
