Saving the planet is everyone’s responsibility, but when a business decides to do its bit for this planet of ours, does that increase employee morale as a very welcome side effect?

In many ways, yes it does.

There are many decisions a business has to make on a daily basis, such as which stylish office desks to purchase, which products to launch, etc, but when a company decides to be more environmentally aware, it is showing that it is not only concerned with profits at the end of the month. This gives a far more human side to a business, and also helps employees to feel more connected as a whole.

Encouraging staff to get on board with environmentally friendly endeavours, such as recycling, car sharing, and choosing organic food options in the canteen, also creates a ‘one for all, and all for one’ feel within the office space, and that can only be a good thing for morale! When you add this to other efforts, such as creating a comfortable space with supportive office furniture, you’re onto a real winner.

Of course, you can attempt to boost morale in many other ways too, such as celebrating staff birthdays, purchasing comfortable office sofas for break times, and creating focus groups to collaborate on important business decisions, but deciding to be more environmentally aware is one which has far reaching effects.
