Did you know that office tables and desks are some of the most unhygienic places in your office overall? Seriously. Think of all those germs and microbes sat waiting for someone to touch.
It’s quite disgusting when you really think about it. Food, dust, sneezes, you name it, it’s probably lurking there.
For that reason, you need to clean your desks, office tables, and other accessories on a regular basis. But, just how regular is regular?
As a general rule, the following is enough to keep on top of cleanliness:
• Your computer monitor, keyboard and your phone should be wiped down at the end of every week, but if you’re not the only one using your phone, a quick wipe down with an antibacterial wipe at the end of the day is a good idea. Keyboards should be tipped upside down and cleaned, especially if you eat at your office desk (hopefully you don’t)
• All office desks and tables should be wiped down at least once per week. At the start of Monday morning, dedicate five minutes to cleaning down your desk
• Get rid of anything you don’t need - clutter makes you unproductive and harbours germs!
Hygiene is vital, especially in a large office. Bugs and germs whip around an office quicker than someone can sneeze, and you know what that adds up to? Sick days.
It’s also a good idea to make sure you get rid of old desk and tables and replace them in a timely manner. Check out office furniture online for inspiration.
