Calibre’s Quick Insights – How To Manage Early Morning Starts (including Mondays!)

Published on 13/08/2018

Dear Readers,

Welcome to today’s quick insights session here at Calibre!

Our blog post today will be about early morning routines and how to permanently get over the Monday blues. Something MOST OF US can relate to! We recently came across an inspirational infographic by SleepyPeople.com on how famous iconic figures start their day, in the hope that we can also imitate some of their daily habits too, if we want to lead a successful and prosperous work life.

Before we start highlighting a few of our favourite segments of the infographic, we will begin by outlining how a couple of staff members at Calibre Office Furniture start their day. To begin with, Calibre’s Managing Director has admitted that feeding and cuddling his cats usually makes his mornings despite not being a great fan of early morning starts.

Similarly, Calibre’s Digital Marketing Manager states that her early morning walks to the station often help coping with early morning starts along with starting her workday standing at her height adjustable desk with a huge cup of coffee in her hand.

Now, let’s turn our attention back to the infographic. Firstly we have noticed that more than one successful professional listed in the SleepyPeople infographic such as Bill Gates and Barack Obama are advocates of morning workouts before officially starting their day. It is also clear from this article that well-established figures like Barack Obama, Jeff Bezos and David Cameron spend a great deal of their mornings with their families and are basically strong believers of having a good work-life balance.

We agree, having a good work-life balance is certainly important! This is why the senior management at Calibre are always encouraging their staff members to avoid being glued to their office chairs and start making use of the breakout area at various points of the day, especially during the morning! Moreover, other findings that stood out to us from this infographic include the fact that Winston Churchill would allegedly wake up at 7.30am everyday yet remain in bed until around 11am, reading newspapers, eating breakfast in bed, etc. Sounds like a life of luxury doesn’t it?!

On the other hand, it was also interesting to become aware that David Cameron has enforced a ‘no morning TV’ rule in his household for him and his family so they can remain productive in the mornings. Great shout!

So that’s it folks for today’s quick insights session! Hopefully this has given you a better idea on the varying effective ways to enhance your mornings especially the gloomy Monday mornings most of us are very familiar of!

We would love to hear how you start your mornings too. Share your experiences with us today in the comment box below.
