With the prevalence of open plan offices, you might think it’s a complete impossibility to have five minutes to yourself within such a huge office space. Surely, so many desks in once space makes having a peaceful day completely unattainable? Aren’t open plan office distractions a given?

Actually, no. It’s entirely possible to find privacy within an open plan office, but it all comes down to how it was designed in the first place.

Have you heard of an agile workplace? This is a large open plan space which is split into different zones, often using office dividersacoustic panels, and booths to create these separate spaces. 

You’ll find a collaborative zone where people can talk freely, quiet zones where people can work without being interrupted and even chill out areas, for a quick de-stress and time out. Office furniture is designed be comfortable and supportive, whilst being in-keeping with the needs of the particular zone.

So, if you’re finding it hard to grab five minutes to yourself, perhaps splitting your open plan office into zones is the way forward.
