We might have a couple of months left to go, but summer is certainly around the corner. Every business knows that being prepared is the way forward, so you might be starting to think about whether air conditioning in your office space is a good idea or not. 

There are pros and cons to air con, but the major advantage is certainly that you’re creating a cool environment for your staff to work in. The thing is, what person deems an adequate temperature might be too hot or too cold for someone else! You can’t please everyone, but you can find a sensible piece of middle ground. 

Most smart offices incorporate heating and air con systems, but it’s important to know about maintenance requirements.
Without proper cleaning and maintenance air conditioning units can become a hotbed of harmful bacteria, caused by fungus and mould which builds up inside the unit and then distributed around the office when the air blows out. 

Overall, your air conditioning units need to be serviced yearly, and the best time is in the spring, just before you’re going to start using it in the summer months. In addition, you should make sure you clean the filters in the unit every two weeks at least.
This will stop the build up of bacteria and will also ensure that your unit lasts the test of time too. 

One of the most important modern office systems during the summer months is certainly ventilation, via fresh air or air con machines. Make sure you use it correctly.
