Wallpaper or Paint for an Office Environment?

Painted wall

If you’re thinking of changing your office decor and freshening up your space, you might be stuck between wallpaper and paint.

Which is best for an office, complimenting its office furniture design?

It really depends on the space, how much your budget is, and what you’re trying to create. For instance, are you going for a single colour? In that case, paint is probably a better option. If, however, you want a feature wall or something with a little pattern to it, it’s always going to be easier to use wallpaper.

You could also separate your space up using office dividers and have a half and half option, but again, that depends upon the size of your office.

Budget-wise it’s always going to be cheaper to paint than it is to wallpaper. These days, one roll of wallpaper can cost in excess of £15 upwards, and you’re probably going to need quite a few rolls to cover an office! Despite that, wallpaper does tend to last longer than paint, so in terms of cost effectiveness this is something you’re going to have to weigh up in terms of pro's and con's. Of course, opting for cheaper wallpaper options will mean you’re going to have to replace it far sooner than you would like, due to a thin design and generally poor quality.

Whichever option you go for, be sure to create a space which is attractive, uplifting and positive, the ideal space for those sitting at their office desks, doing their daily work.

Which do you prefer?
