What Are The Main Progression Routes into Management?

Published on 21/10/2019

Not everyone has a career plan in mind, but many people do. If your main aim is to head towards a management position in the future, you need to be sure that you’re on the right track.

Managers need qualifications and training in order to lead a team and make strong management-level decisions. This means either studying on the job, perhaps through an apprenticeship or working you way up through a company over the long-term, or it can mean going to college part-time, in order to gain in the skills and knowledge required for the job.

Before you know it, you’ll be one of those sitting at the high end office desks!

Of course, working up to management level doesn’t happen overnight. Check out this video which outlines the main steps towards management positions.

More and more female managers are taking up high-level posts these days, which is great news for the working world overall. With equity and diversity high on the agenda for most businesses, everyone has the same chance of achieving a management role, regardless of gender, race, disability, or any other aspect of life.
