Why an ‘Irregular’ Shaped Office Isn’t a Barrier to Office Design

Unconventional office shape

A room which has several pillars, a potentially odd shape, or even one which is small, can be a major pain when it comes to redecoration, or even renovation. You want to insert modern office desks in the middle of the room, but the shape won’t allow it. It’s annoying, for sure.

Is that a barrier to having a modern office space? Not at all! Contemporary architecture, and office design has changed hugely over the years, and now it’s not a case of simply saying ‘no, it’s not going to work’, and walking away. Here at Calibre, we use CAD (Computer Aided Design), when working out how to effectively make use of the space available, and this can yield some very favourable results!

The use of multipurpose office furniture can be a great idea when you have a room which is considered an irregular shape.
These can be moved around and used for various different reasons, giving you flexibility in your furniture endeavours.
Bespoke desking alternatives might be a great solution – such a unique piece of furniture can be tailor-made for your custom needs.
You can even use pillars and what you might consider to be obstructions to add an extra flair to the space; all it takes is a little creative thinking in terms of where to put your office seating, and how to make the most of what you have.

Of course, you can’t wave a magic wand and create extra space in a very small room, but you can think carefully about what you do and don’t need, and come to a suitable middle ground.
