If you’ve done any research into office design lately, you’ll know that something called a breakout space is making waves.
This is a multi functional space which can be used for chill out time, quiet contemplation, or collaboration, and is the number one spot you need in your modern office!

Giving staff somewhere to go when they need a few minutes to themselves, or even just for a break, will help them to focus and feel more valued as an employee. In addition, having a space for collaboration increases the chances of new ideas coming your way.
With this in mind, how should you design the entire space?

Having some professional design help is a good idea, but overall, your breakout space should be designed differently to the rest of your office. Think about inspiring and creative colours, such as tranquil blues and greens, or even cheery yellows. You should also think about breakout furniture which is not only comfortable and supportive, but also gives privacy when needed, and opens up for brainstorming too. Having a different design to the rest of your office makes this space wholly separate, and has the same effect on the brain when you walk into it - ideal for a time out!

A modern, funky space is just the ticket for an area which is designed to be all about the employee, and when you install an area such as this, you’re basically sending out the message to your staff that you care about their wellbeing and you want to give them the tools to not only do their job well, but also to support them when they need space. Office furnishings don’t always have to be tailored towards desks and chairs

What do you think about breakout spaces?
