Clerkenwell Design Week 2017 - The Do’s and Don’ts Checklist

Published on 10/05/2017

As many of the office furniture enthusiasts will be aware, Clerkenwell Design Week for this year is only around the corner, which means it’s time to be fully prepared ahead of the annual event. For those who are new to the concept and still trying to get their head around it, it is essentially an opportunity for leading UK & international furniture led brands to showcase their latest products such as new style office desks and desk chairs. Please also note that it is a three day event, taking place from the 23rd-25th of May.

We’ve been attending for several years at Calibre Office Furniture and thought it might be useful to create a checklist  (see below) for our readers to prepare them ahead of the occasion.

Do’s:

  • DO - Register online in advance, preferably 2-3 weeks before the event. This will prevent you from waiting in a long que on the day of your visit.
  • DO - Enjoy yourself from the start to finish of the event. It should ideally be an enjoyable experience rather than a chore you have to do.
  • DO - Ask as many questions as you can about the products and give feedback to the reps as and when you need to.
  • DO - Take as many notes so you can refer back to these for future reference.

Don’ts:

  • DON’T - Forget to take a great amount of interesting photos and videos for your social media platforms. So, if you spot a new funky type of glass desk or any other innovative desks at one of the showrooms, snap away!
  • DON’T - Miss the exclusive Clerkenwell Design Week party, which will give you a chance to network further in a more social context.
  • DON’T - Arrive too late or you will miss out on viewing a wide range of products from various furniture led organisations. Most of the events begin at 9am/10am.
  • DON’T - Forget to arrange a debriefing after the event so you can go over everyone’s key findings about the event.
  • DON’T - Spend too much time at one place. Make sure you get to visit as many showrooms as possible when present at this event.

Summary:

As you may have guessed by now Clerkenwell Design Week is an important annual event so one should make every effort to attend it. The above are some essentials that would help you get the most out of your Clerkenwell experience this year.  However, it would be highly advisable not to forget to have a good time while you’re ticking off this checklist. To be extra organised, it may be a good idea to print this list off a day before you attend the event.

Enjoy!
