As it was Valentine’s day this week, we thought it would be a great idea to create an article for our readers around the theme of ‘love'. In our opinion, Valentine’s shouldn’t just be about expressing your love to your partners but it should also be about appreciating and loving other aspects of your life too i.e. your friends, family, job, etc. With this in mind, a few of us at Calibre Office Furniture have teamed up to give our readers some insight into what we love about working here.

Let’s get started….

Dave Robbins, Managing Director:

Although our MD hearts practically everything about Calibre, he still came up with a short list of his top three faves when working in the office. These are as follows.

• The magnificent Calibre fish tank: Dave is very fond of the fish tank in his office. He states that it helps create a tranquil work environment around his workspace. This wonderful fish tank is also a great distraction particularly throughout stressful and super busy times during the course of the week. It helps him to switch off and keep calm during challenging periods.

• The healthy sit and stand desk options: the height adjustable office desks have certainly won over many of our staff members. It appears Dave is also part of this height adjustable desk fascination here at Calibre. He claims it helps prevent fatigue and always leaves him feeling active and refreshed.

• The relaxing canteen area: last but not least, the canteen area is also one of Dave’s personal favourites. He loves spending time here on a daily basis. According to him, it allows everyone to detach from his or her work activities as and when they need to. He states that ‘it’s like being away from the office, in the office’. Greatly put Dave!

Lee Brett, Sales Director:

• The convenient office location: our Sales Director Lee, says that he loves the location of the office as we are surrounded by a diverse set of shops and most importantly, our office is based right opposite the train station. How convenient!

Aarti Ohri, Digital Marketing Manager:

• The restful breakout booths: Aarti loves the breakout booths that are available at Calibre. She tries to spend most of her lunch hours here as it allows her to break away from her usual work activities and have some ‘me’ time. This keeps her energised and productive throughout the day.

• The lively and upbeat office surroundings: let’s face it, hardly anyone enjoys working in a gloomy and morbid work environment and Aarti is no different. She loves the fact that there is never a dull moment when working at Calibre. There is always something going on to liven up the place. If it’s not the people then it’s the TV, if it’s not the TV, then it’s the music and so forth.

• The flexitime work solutions: lastly, as Aarti has to travel a long distance to work, she appreciates the flexitime work options that are offered to her at Calibre. It’s always a bonus when you have an understanding management team. This keeps staff like her motivated and determined to work hard at all times.

Hugh Bunce, Sales Manager:

• The uplifting green plants: Hugh strongly feels that the green plants soften the space and help reduce stress in a high tempo environment. Agreed!

• The not so noisy acoustic panels: another one of Hugh’s top picks around the office is the acoustic picture that is displayed in the main office area. He has pointed out that the acoustic picture helps absorb the sound in the office allowing him to consequently specify the furniture to clients without disruptive noise in the background.

• The flexible and multifunctional office areas: finally, our Sales Manager Hugh is also a huge fan of Calibre’s office design. When asked to discuss his choice further he said the following:“varity of working environments enable me to work in a place that suits the task. This includes holding informal meetings with suppliers in the breakout pod, finding a quiet space to prioritise my work, eating lunch with colleagues in the canteen or working on a quotation at my desk”.

Duncan Hoyle, Sales Manager:

• The smart office set up: Duncan loves having various types of workspaces available in the office as he feels that it enables all of us to work as a team but still have our own space/s to work on our individual work activities.

• The smooth flow of the office: according to Duncan, there is also a bit of forced movement around the office including walking up & down the stairs to stretch ones legs & minds. Looks like he’s really impressed with the office layout!

• The beautiful natural settings: being the great lover of nature that he is, looking out of the window from time to time is also something Duncan is extremely favourable of. We think he definitely made the right choice when picking his desk!

A Calibre Valentine’s summary:

We have now reached the end of our Valentine’s journey and have enjoyed sharing some of the things we love about our workplace the most with you.
