Mindfulness

We all know that stress is officially a VERY BAD THING. We also know that we need to try and manage our stress levels in order to remain healthy and strong. When stress creeps into your life, nothing good comes of it, and your office desk is a very easy place to find stressful situations, especially when you have several targets and deadlines coming your way, and a big meeting around the conference table coming up.

More and more employers are choosing to add stress management training into their staff wellness packages, but could mindfulness be something to add to that?

If you’re not sure what mindfulness is, this is basically learning how to shift your attention and awareness into the present moment, without thinking about the past or jumping ahead to the future. A huge amount of stress is caused by thinking too far ahead or panicking about things that you can’t change. Mindfulness teaches you how to avoid all that and be appreciative of the here and now.

Check out this video for a few easy exercises to try.

As you can see, mindfulness isn’t difficult once you get used to it, and can be something you try whilst sat at your chic office furniture

Have you tried mindfulness before? Did you find it useful for stress relief or not?
