Could Nap Desks Really Become a Thing?

There comes a time during most working days where you wish you could lay down on your luxury office furniture and close your eyes, just for five minutes. The thing is, most bosses wouldn’t really appreciate you snoozing on the job!
People stay up late for many reasons. While sufficient sleep is defined as between 7 and 9 hours, The Sleep Council's 2017 Report found that we're slepping less. Even less than in 2013. Almost three-quarters (74%) of Brits sleep less than seven hours per night while the number of people who said they get less than five hours a night has grown from 7% to 12%.

A Greek company called Studio NL have taken an unconventional idea and turned it into a product.
Despite the joke side of this topic, there is actually some sense behind it all. As this video mentions, a cat nap of just 20 minutes could actually be enough to refresh your brain and make you more productive! A well rested employee is healthier, and certainly going to get more done.

What do you think of that? Looks pretty good, right?

The bad news is that this is still a design prototype, and not yet in circulation for purchasing. Whether or not most offices will approve this becoming part and parcel of their regular office furniture however remains to be seen!

Before you go kicking back in your office chair and having a mid-afternoon snooze, perhaps for now there are better ways to boost your productivity, without getting in trouble with your manager?

What you think about this nap desk idea?
