Does Luxury Always Equal Impressive?

It is important to make a positive impression on visitors entering your office space, whether for the first time or for the tenth time. There’s no denying however, the first impression is the most powerful of them all.

With that in mind, do you always have to splash the cash on the best office furniture around in order to make that wow first impression, or can you be more quirky?

Luxury doesn’t always come down to money. You don’t have to purchase the most high end executive luxury office furniture to impress visitors who walk through your door, as there are many other facets which make up the positive impression as a whole. How about a smile and a professional greeting at the reception office furniture? How about a clean and tidy space, which is regularly maintained and always looks professional? How about staff who are highly trained and helpful? These are all facets which make up a positive impression, and the space doesn’t need to be dripping in luxury to tick that most important of boxes.

Having said that, there’s no denying that luxury does look the part. The problem is, you can have the most designer office desk in your reception space, but if your receptionist is rude, unhelpful and completely uninterested, is the impression going to be the right one? No! In that case, you’ve wasted a lot of cash and lost business in the process.

What you need to consider when designing an office is what luxury actually means to you. Does it mean expensive furniture which no-one is allowed to touch in case it gets smeared or broken? Or, is it a space which is clean, tidy, and very presentable, with staff who are highly trained and happy?

Stylish reception furniture

It’s entirely possible to have a mix of the two and it all comes down to your budget. Luxury furniture costs more than regular furniture, that is something we can’t deny, and it’s certainly impressive to the eye; as we’ve mentioned however, that’s only part of the deal. Bespoke office desks can be personalised and changed to the needs of the person sitting at them, and these can look just as impressive as huge, CEO-style desks which turn heads as people pass them by.

The point we’re trying to make is that it’s no good investing in quality furniture, if you’re not ticking the basic boxes, and making the customer or client as happy as can be with the products and services you’re supplying.

Let’s think about glass office desks for a second. Many people are scared of glass, because they falsely think it’s extremely difficult to clean and not in the slightest bit durable. That’s a huge mistake, because not only are glass desks not as hard to clean as you might think, but they’re extremely strong and long-lasting too. The other plus point is that they look super-expensive, when they’re actually not! Choosing glass desks is one of the biggest luxury hacks around, because if you find a great deal, you’ll be investing in a look which turns heads for all the right reasons, and you won’t be paying a small fortune for the luxury, pardon the pun!

At the end of the day, a luxury office really depends on the person’s opinion. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that’s certainly the case when it comes to deciding whether or not an open plan office ticks the luxury box. If it’s comfortable, supportive, pleasant to work in, clean, tidy, and really looks the part, surely that’s luxury for the person working there, and for anyone walking into it too? Happy employees provide a far better services to their customers, so why not speak your staff and find out what their idea of luxury is first?
