Foot Rests - A Do or a Don’t?

Foot rest

There are many office accessories, and you might not be sure if you need them or not. A foot rest is probably one of them.

Put simply, a foot rest is ideal for helping overall comfort during the working day, but can also help to relieve lower back pain. You shouldn’t place your feet flat on the floor whilst working at your office desk, and an adjustable foot rest can help to relieve pressure. Knowing how to sit properly is vital, in order to avoid aches and pains.

Overall, foot rests are ideal in many situations, and provided yours is adjustable and helps you feel more comfortable, it’s certainly a do, and not a don’t.

If you’re a little shorter in height, a foot rest can help, and even if you’re not, you will benefit from increased circulation, thanks to less pressure on your lower back and the backs of your legs. If you can find a foot rest which has a natural movement, e.g. it rocks backwards and forwards, you’re actually getting a slight workout at the same time too! Of course, comfort is other main plus point.

If you’ve never tried a foot rest, now is the time to give it a go, and you’ll probably find that you won’t go back to sitting without one.

How do you feel about foot rests, are they do for you, or a don’t?
