Ease the strains of a busy day at work

You’ve had a busy and stressful day at work, and 5pm has finally rolled around. You’re ready to head home and relax.
Does this sound like a familiar story?

What you might not be aware of is that you can easily have a hangover from the previous day’s excesses, if you don’t manage to relax completely the night before. So, how can you do that?

Whilst you’re at work, make sure your office furniture is comfortable and supportive as a starting point. If your chair is comfortable, you’re not making life easy for yourself! This will mean that when you head home, you don’t have pain to deal with at the same time.
It’s also interesting to note that furniture can also affect your mood, so make sure it’s comfortable at the very least! Furniture materials also play a part, so avoid hard and unsupportive choices.

Once you’re home, don’t get started on your to do list of jobs, chill out! Of course, you’ll have things to do, but do them slowly, and make sure you give yourself a little time for yourself. Read a book, have a hot bath, sit and play with the kids, talk to your friends, your partner, your family, whoever is around you. If you live alone, get out and see friends or invite them around for a glass of wine!

If you’ve never tried massage before, give it a go. Regular massages can help with a variety of issues, and can also destress and relax you for the next day’s work.

If you have headaches from the noise or stress of work, drink plenty of water and get a good night’s sleep. You could also think about using an office screen whilst you’re at work too.
