The Best Ways to Prepare Your Office For Spring/Summer

Published on 20/04/2018

Spring has sprung and summer is fast approaching! The sun is shining (some of the time) and temperatures are on the rise. So, how can you prepare your office for the upcoming warmer months, so your staff are more comfortable during their working days?

Think bright, pleasant, colourful, uplifted! We need to bring that positive energy into the office for the summer days to really boost productivity and mood overall. You can do that by perhaps changing up your office artwork, if you have any, or maybe adding a few plants and flowers around the place.

As a general rule however, the following ideas are great for welcoming in those long, summer days.

Have a Furniture Reorganisation

If you have had the same office layout for a while, why not move things around for the warmer months? You could move office tables closer to the windows, reorganise your call centre desks, to allow more natural light to break through. Basically, have a good spring clean and welcome in the sunshine with a new layout.

Make Way For Views

The best way to enjoy the sunshine is to be able to see it! Encourage your staff to get outside into the fresh air during lunch breaks, but during the time they’re in the office, make sure the windows are open, and clear away any obstructions that are blocking those beautiful summer views!

Install Air Conditioning

If you don’t already have it, air conditioning is a fantastic idea for making everyone much cooler and more comfortable during the summer months. If your budget can’t stretch to air conditioning, how about some high quality fans? On top of this, be savvy about the colour of your office furniture, because we all know that darker colours absorb heat and basically make you hotter – check out our white office furniture range for a fresh summer look.

Allow Summer Clothing

If you have a strict dress code, try relaxing it a little in time for summer, to allow staff to be cooler during their working hours. Of course, there needs to be restrictions on how summery it can be, but generally speaking, allowing skirts and linen pants, rather than suits is a good idea.

Have Plenty of Refreshments Available

Have some break areas where staff can go to relax on their time away form their desks. Perhaps have some office tub chairs close to the water cooler, or have an ice lolly freezer for those particularly hot days!

These are all fantastic ways to get your office spring and summer ready.

Have a great summer all and enjoy the sunshine!
