Service desk

Who do you call when you have an IT problem at work? You call your IT service desk, of course. But, what if you don’t have one, and what if your office is running a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) programme?

The answers to those questions are being pondered and developed, due to the increase of people bringing their own mobile device (laptop, tablet, or phone) into the office to use. This cuts down on the amount of IT equipment a business has to purchase – such as office chairs or regular desks – but it poses issues too. It is thought that the prevalence of BYOD will increase by a quarter every single year. That’s a lot of personal devices!

Check out this infographic on what the future of service desks is likely to include, to counteract these away from your desk IT issues.

As the idea of bringing your own device to work increases, the need for service desks to move with the times increases. This may mean purchasing new office furniture to accommodate service desks, or it could mean moving towards an online-based service.
