If you’re about to give an important presentation to colleagues within your company or perhaps some high-flying clients, you’re hoping to get on board with your business, it’s vital that you have all the tech and equipment you need.
Making sure that your have the right boardroom furniture is of course your starting point – nobody wants to sit through presentation if they’re uncomfortable, no matter how impressive the content may be! You should also check temperature; too hot and everyone will be nodding off, and too cold and people will be shivering. If you have glass conference tables, make sure they’re spotless!
In terms of the actual presentation, it really depends on the format, but the following should be on your tick list:
- Laptop computer and correct software, with the presentation loaded and ready
- Projector – It’s also a good idea to have a spare bulb, just in case!
- The correct cables to connect everything up
- A microphone
- Mouse to move through the screens, or you could opt for a hand-held device which you click to move the slides on
Of course, set everything up and run through the presentation before everyone arrives! This will help you double check for any bugs that might be lurking, and save your blushes when people start filing into the room. Check you have enough boardroom chairs for everyone, with a handout placed on every chair. It helps if you have refreshments ordered too!
More and more people are opting for different types of presentations these days, which are far more digital(ised) than ever before.
On one hand, trends are moving towards interactive walls, boards and tables (i.e. smart technology), on the other hand people are heading outside for walking meetings nowadays!
