Most businesses miss the fact that in order for a meeting or conference room to actually fit the bill, e.g. create new and exciting ideas and solutions, it needs to be actually inspiring and comfortable to spend time in! Nobody can come up with earth-shattering ideas if the room is so dull it sucks the life out of them.
If you’re on the look out for new boardroom furniture and you want to make your space as inspiring and comfortable as possible, there are a few things you need to consider first.
- Colour – Choose a colour which is inspiring and calming, e.g. blue, green, yellow, etc - avoid dull beiges and greys!
- Lighting and temperature – Make sure there is plenty of natural light and the temperature is ‘just right’
- Comfort – Look at the office furniture in that space and consider whether it needs any upgrade
- Decor – How about some inspirational quotes on the wall? Some interesting artwork? Think of something to get the brain working! You could even go with themed conference room designs
- Layout – Is the room layout conducive to collaboration? What is the conference table design like? Should you opt for long and rectangular? Or how about going circular? Maybe modular choices for extra flexibility?
- Technology – Look into white boards, interactive boards people can write on, video conferencing facilities, think about acoustics where needed
- Have some brand information on your reception tables too, as this will help increase awareness of what your company does
These are the main areas to think about when creating the perfect meeting room & atmosphere. Of course, the main feature is a contemporary boardroom table that fits the bill!
