It seems that every single day we’re metaphorically hit over the head with how we should be advancing our careers, we should be looking for promotion opportunities, perhaps even starting our own entrepreneur vision and discussing ideas around the conference room furniture.
But, what if you don’t want any of that? What if you’re perfectly happy where you are?
The truth? If you are very happy in your job and you have no aspirations to move, you’re lucky. You have what is known as job satisfaction, and that is quite the holy grail of the employment world!
Perhaps you have no desire to move from your current office chairs and you don’t feel the need to uproot your working life to another company, for a higher pay band or not. There are far too many unhappy workers in this world, and if you’re someone who enjoys their job, finds fulfilment, and has enough satisfaction in their role, you’re one of the precious few.
So, if you’re happy with your current office tables and you’re worried you’re seen as missing out by not wanting to move on, forget that and focus on your current role. Maybe you’ll desire a little extra responsibility in the future, but for now, celebrate your contentment and pour your all into your daily work.
