If you have several pieces of old furniture and you’re not sure how to get rid of them, it pays to do your research.
You can’t simply throw out furniture and expect the local council to take it away in the regular bin round! You also need to understand that certain types of furniture also have an impact on the environment, because they give off certain emissions.
If you want to make room for new furniture, perhaps incorporating standing desks or maybe looking towards sleek modern office desks instead, you have four main options:
- Recycle
- Gift to someone
- Reuse
- Regenerate, e.g. turn it into something else
If there is a small start-up business within your building or close by, they will probably be very grateful for any furniture you can gift them. However, recycling is a good idea too, as it means that nothing is going to waste.
