Qualities to look for in a new employee

If you’re about to go on a recruitment drive to find a new employee, or maybe employees, for your business, it’s important to know from the start what you’re looking for. Having a list of traits you want to see in your new talent makes the whole process far easier.

Of course, you also need to make sure that you have an office environment which is going to attract the best talent out there, including amazing office furniture and a general office experience which is positive and collaborative.

The traits you should be on the lookout for are quite common across all industries, but there are also some you need to spot and avoid too. Check out this infographic which gives some useful information on the right type of employee versus the wrong type.

As you can see, communication is a big one, and that is something you’ll be able to notice whilst you’re sat around the meeting room chairs, interviewing your various candidates. You should be looking for someone who will fit into your office and settle in quickly, someone who will bring a new dimension to the work at hand, and someone who is eager and willing to learn.

Of course, experience and qualifications matter, but sometimes you need to look beyond the CV and imagine how they may perform whilst sat at their office desk, and to be on the lookout for something unique, something special. Perhaps they’re great at coming up with creative solutions and thinking outside the box, or maybe they’re fantastic at mediating. Whatever it is, always be on the look out for the extra dimension.

Can you think of any specific qualities to look for in a new employee?
