Calibre Quick Insights - Why Drinking Coffee Is a Big Yes for Office Workers

Published on 25/09/2018

Dear Reader,

Welcome to today’s quick insights session here at Calibre!

It would be a lie if we said majority of office workers were not fond of drinking coffee during the course of the day. Our staff members at Calibre are certainly guilty of being coffee lovers. This has therefore led us to investigate further on whether there is a link between coffee consumption and increased staff productivity levels. After conducting some research, turns out that there is a positive correlation between coffee consumption and higher productivity levels. Below are a list of key interesting reasons why this may be.

Let’s get exploring shall we?!

Reason 1: coffee helps towards creating a more social office

As you may already be aware, there is a great amount of importance placed on staff members taking regular breaks so they can avoid feeling burnt out.  So, if you want to break away from your daily tasks, it may be a good idea to go for a coffee break and catch-up with a couple of your fellow team mates in your dedicated breakout space, canteen or reception area on the comfortable reception seating. The choice is yours!

Always remember, going for a coffee is always a good excuse for office workers to get away from their desks as being glued to them can lead to a decline in staff productivity levels.

Reason 2: coffee keeps you focused

As you know, if you haven’t opted for a decaffeinated choice of coffee, the usual caffeinated alternative will get you on a ‘high’ and keep you wide-awake. According the article, we came across by Monster.co.uk “caffeinated coffee keeps people alert and provides their central nervous systems with a boost, that helps keep them productive throughout the day”. Feeling sleepy?  Why not treat yourself to a coffee to get that extra boost your body needs?!

Reason 3: coffee keeps you on your toes...‘literally’

Coffee lovers, we’re sure you're familiar of this but a high coffee intake speeds up metabolism, which also means going for frequent lavatory breaks. This will not only ensure that you’re not glued to your workstation but it will also keep you on the move preventing you from feeling lethargic from sitting down all day, which as we know are all common culprits of causing low productivity levels.

Summary:

The moral of the story is, love coffee! If you’re a senior manager then make sure you encourage your staff members to develop a taste for coffee or any other hot drinks in that matter for the sake of staff productivity! The reality essentially is that, high productivity levels can be achieved in a number of ways, coffee being one of them along with other ways like social outings, purchasing ergonomic office furniture items, etc. When it comes to the latter, we are experts in this industry. So if you're actively searching for office furniture in London or any other locations around the UK, then give us a shout, we'll be more than happy to help you out!
