Why is it so Important to Embrace Change?

Is it just us, or does time seem to fly by these days? Along with the sands of time, we also have endless technological advances which seem to alter the way we work and go about our daily business drastically. 

Do you like change or do you have a total dislike towards it? How do you feel when your workplace implements new things, such as office desk screens, etc? Worried? Or, do you embrace it?

Most people would admit to not really liking change that much but not really having a choice but to go with it. The thing is, we should be embracing change, not just putting up with it!

The ability to embrace change has to come from the top, e.g. leaders have to embrace is and create a sense of excitement, in order for employees to embrace it equally as well. Change is vital if we want to move forwards; without change we will always be static and never be able to take advantage of the benefits of technology, as one example. 

It doesn’t always have to be about technology however, it can be as simple as a change in the way your office is designed, e.g. the reception counter design might change and your regular receptionist may be very upset about it – the preferred it the old way and don’t like the call centre desk format you’ve tried to implement. 

The ability to create a sense of excitement about change, rather than a fear culture is vital. This will directly impact upon morale, and therefore profits. In addition, if you don’t embrace change, your competitors will!
