How to Avoid Screen Glare

Whether your office uses desktop computers or laptops, screen glare can be a real problem. It completely depends where your office desk is situated, but having sun glare, natural light, or even glare from artificial lights, shining on your screen can cause headaches and eyestrain over the course of a day.

If you have a glass office desk, this glare can be even worse, as the light which is affecting your screen will also affect the surface of your desk. This can double your problems!

There are a few ways you can minimise and avoid screen glare, but the best option is to be careful where you place your business furniture in relation to windows and overhead lights. It’s not advisable to place a desk next to a window, so the person has their back to the window. In this case, glare is going to be an issue. Facing the window may be okay, but you would have to assess how much light is hitting the person’s eyes.

The other option is to chance the contrast on the screen itself. This can easily be done in the settings section on a laptop or the monitor itself with a desktop computer. Adjusting this according to personal preference will make working far easier.
In addition, there is anti-glare equipment you can purchase, such as screen hoods and filters. A filter will catch around 95% of the glare from lights directly overhead. These help to create the perfect high end office equipment inventory, by allowing staff to be more comfortable during their working hours.
You can opt for an anti-glare screen protector (filter) too, which not only reduces glare for your LCD screen, but it also prevents your screen from fingerprints.
