Incorporating Nature Into Your Office

Incorporating nature into the office environment can certainly bring many health and productivity benefits to a business. Bringing the outside in, with green walls, specific colour schemes, plants, water features, and plentiful natural light is one of the latest office design trends

It’s not that difficult to incorporate elements of nature into your office space, and your office furniture can reflect these too, depending upon the materials they’re made of. For instance, a solid oak boardroom table is made of natural materials, which is one of the easiest and quickest ways to try and bring the outdoors in. Of course, going OTT isn’t the best use of your space, but a few plants here and there could simply be enough for a small office space.

The reason plants are a great boost for productivity and focus, as well as overall health and stress lowering is because humans have a natural desire to want to connect with nature. When we do this, we are calmer, we are more tranquil, and when we feel that way, everything is far more positive! Whether you add free standing trees and plants, or you look towards having small plants on your stylish office desks, it will all work very well for the office and your employees!

If you’re trying not to go overboard, how much is too much? It depends on your office space, but if you have more trees than desks, it’s probably time to scale it back! Subtlety works very well in this theme, but don’t be afraid to add a natural centrepiece, e.g. a living wall or even a tree, for an eye catching look.
