Concentration is key to focus, and both are key to productivity. What one person needs to concentrate varies from another, but there are a few common schools of thought, such as comfortable office seating, and the ability to have several breaks throughout the day.

Whilst most workplaces won’t allow employees to bring their pets to work, animals seem to help! How about adding in some natural elements instead? Biophilic workplace design is certainly making waves, and has been shown to increase focus too. Keeping food at your desk is a great option, but make sure that these are healthy snacks choices and not chocolate bars. Of course, you should also make sure that the business furniture you have around you is comfortable and supportive, to avoid aches and strains; a painful back is not going to allow you to focus. 

Avoiding distractions is also a great way to increase concentration. Office screens can help  to give you a sense of privacy, whilst acoustic screens can cut down on background noise too. Turn off your phone and avoid those annoying social media notifications, and declutter your desk whilst you’re at it. These are great distraction-avoiding techniques to look into, but creating a list of the jobs you need to do is fantastic way to focus your mind.
