Why Office Design is Important in Recruiting New Staff

Every business needs to keep a hold of their top talent, but the very nature of life means that people will inevitably come and go.
When a talented member of staff decides to leave, it can feel like a sledge hammer to the productivity of the office, but recruiting new talent is vital. This can bring a new, fresh impetus to the office and can also help to keep the business current.

There are many things which attract new talent towards a business, and it can be as simple as the office reception chairs and the first impression made, but one of them is the overall design of the office. An office which is forward-thinking, comfortable, innovative, and fresh is more likely to grab attention than one which is standard and less than impressive. It also shows that the business cares about appearances and the experience of their staff.

How can you do this? With a colourful design, the clever use of nature, and looking towards furniture choices which are more about the employees themselves. For instance, we’re hearing more and more about the experiential workplace, and this is a spot which would rather have a 6 seater office table for ease of collaboration than a booth where people are segregated.
A spot which focuses on the needs of the employees and incorporates it into the way the office is run.

The way an office is designed can be the decision breaker for a potential new employee, so make sure that your office is geared up for those already in your space, and for those ones who may come in the future. Think about branded office furniture, upgrading what you already have, and think outside the box.

Do you think the way an office is designed is important for recruitment?
