We all work differently, simply because we are all individuals who have different habits and preferences. We’re not robots, and that means that within any office space there are going to be several different working styles evident at each luxury office table

You might see people who are very methodical, people who are more casual, those who prefer to work in mess, whilst others who cannot stand a paper out of place. As long as that style works for the person and doesn’t hinder their productivity, that’s fine. What you need to realise however is that your style actually reflects on you. If you have a messy desk and you’re never at your office chair, observers may feel that you are unorganised. If you are extremely tidy, observers may feel you are perfectionistic.

As you can see, your working style is a repetitive behaviour that other people can see and observe. Whilst everyone should embrace their individual style and your own personality type, it’s also a good idea to question how it reflects back on you, and whether you can make any changes by observing others and perhaps trying out a few different ways. Could you organise your office furniture differently for extra productivity? Could you try and implement a new filing system on your hard drive, so you can find things easier? Small tweaks here and there can help minimise weaknesses and increase strengths - we’re always learning!
