Why is Everyone Rushing to Become Paperless?

Paperless office

For the last decade it seems like we’ve all been striving to become paperless, but has it actually happened for you? Many businesses have achieved semi-paperless status, but have still yet to get over that final hurdle towards complete digitalisation.

The thing is, why are we in such a rush? Why is going paperless the prime aim for a business and its contemporary office design ambitions?

It really comes down to three reasons. Being paperless:

•    Saves time
•    Saves money
•    Saves the environment

When you put it like that, it’s hard to argue with the idea!

Going paperless relies upon a business having structured and safe digital storage methods in place, and it also means training staff to use these methods. Filing cabinets may still be needed for certain documents, i.e. tax etc, as for some businesses it may be impossible to be 100% paperless.

Cutting down on the amount of office storage you need is a side effect of achieving paperless status. Security is therefore improved, but the overall time and cost saving measures are what businesses are attracted to. The fact that going paperless has a huge effect on the environment should however be at the forefront of everyone’s mind.

Is your business paperless yet?
